North Carolina Lead-Safe Firm Certification

North Carolina runs its own EPA-authorized Lead-Based Paint program through the NC Department of Health & Human Services (Health Hazards Control Unit), so firms working in pre-1978 homes here certify with the state, not the federal CDX system.

The North Carolina firm certification renews annually and requires your company to employ at least one certified renovator, whose credential is filed with the application. We prepare the paperwork, include the renovator proof, and mail the original with the state fee on your behalf, you never deal with the HHCU directly.
